ARGUS-6 Imaging Sonar
M-07What ARGUS-6 is
ARGUS-6 is the active imaging sonar that lets the boat see in the dark, silty water where cameras are useless. It pings, listens, and forms a picture of the seafloor and anything around it.
This pack walks the whole build: the transducer array, the analog front end, the digital beamformer, and the software that turns raw echoes into an image.
What's inside (planned)
- The circular transducer array and its housing
- Transmit drivers and the receive analog front end
- The beamforming pipeline and how we trade compute for resolution
- The open schematics and the firmware SDK to drive it
The hard-won core — the excitation profile, calibration, and DSP tuning — is where the real work lives, and where the paid build pack goes deep.
A box you rent, not understand
- sealed — no schematics, no firmware
- can't repair or extend it yourself
- one vendor, one failure away from stuck
A part you built and own
- open schematics — every net documented
- firmware SDK you can read and change
- fix, tune and extend it on your bench
What's inside — planned
-
Open schematics
Planned
The full schematic at the design level — every net, part and decision documented.
-
Gerber & fab files
Planned
Production-ready board files — send them straight to a fab house.
-
Bill of materials
Planned
Every part, sourced, with the choices behind each one.
-
Firmware SDK
Planned
The open firmware skeleton plus the SDK to drive the module.
-
Calibration guide
Planned
Step-by-step bring-up and calibration — from bare board to first clean run.
